Description: <DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>The National Marine Fisheries Service's Endangered Species Act (ESA) recovery planning and implementation efforts for West Coast salmon and steelhead are organized into discrete geographic areas called "recovery domains." Recovery domain boundaries are administrative boundaries (not regulatory boundaries). </SPAN></P><P><SPAN>Area-based recovery plans were developed for all ESA-listed Evolutionarily Significant Units (ESUs) of salmon and Distinct Population Segments (DPSs) of steelhead within each recovery domain. </SPAN></P><P><SPAN>The recovery domains portray the approximate range of watersheds currently accessible to listed salmon and steelhead. Historical habitats that are no longer accessible to the listed species are not depicted as part of recovery domains, but may be considered critical for the recovery of an ESU or DPS. </SPAN></P><P><SPAN /></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
