Description: <DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;font-size:12pt"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>Arago Reef West is an Essential Fish Habitat Conservation Area (EFHCA) off the coast of Oregon. Arago Reef West is distinguished as an area within an existing EFHCA (Arago Reef). The boundaries are for Arago Reef West are defined in the groundfish regulations at 50 CFR 660.78</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-50/chapter-VI/part-660/subpart-C/section-660.78</SPAN></P><P><SPAN /></P><P><SPAN>Arago Reef West EFHCA is included in the FPA (Final Preferred Action) adopted by the Pacific Fishery Management Council in March 2023. It was considered under Alternative 2, Suboption 1f for Arago Reef EFHCA. Suboption 1f creates a non-trawl bottom contact EFHCA that prohibits groundfish and directed halibut fishing over the entire bottom trawl EFHCA for Arago Reef except for the portion that exists shoreward of the 30 fm regulatory line. This portion is depicted in this layer: Arago Reef West. </SPAN></P><P><SPAN /></P><P><SPAN>Bandon High Spot and Nehalem Bank are subsets of existing EFHCAs off the coast of Oregon. These areas are included in the FPA (Final Preferred Action) adopted by the Pacific Fishery Management Council in March 2023. They were was considered under Alternative 2, Suboption 1d in order to create a non-trawl bottom contact EFHCA that prohibits groundfish and directed halibut fishing in portions of bottom trawl EFHCAs that would otherwise be reopened.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
