<abstract>20 by 20 nautical mile blocks were originally created for the EBS groundfish and crab trawl survey in the 1970s.
Rather than extending those blocks by hand, the entire set of blocks was recreated using an algorithm. Therefore
these blocks do not precisely match the originals. The size of each block is not exactly 400 sq n.m. but is closer
to that goal than the original blocks.</abstract>
<purpose>Extend RACE survey blocks northward into Norton Sound for the Northern Bering Sea studies.</purpose>
